I began my studies at the National Art School, East Sydney in 1987. Whilst doing Fine Arts, I became interested in the concept of healing through drawing and art. At this time ART 4 HEART was born.
In my earlier days I frequented many exhibitions. One or these touched my heart. This was called ‘Art For The Heart’ and was done by the lovers, parents, children and friends of those who had died of Aids. This was the inspiration for my present concept.
I have conducted numerous workshops for children with learning difficulties. Feedback from these workshops indicated that they were a great success. I have conducted workshops at the Joining Festival and Manshine Festival, both on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Other workshops were at the Darwin Holistic Centre, Gold Coast Men’s Festivals, and ArtSynC (council funded, Arts Incubator).
I facilitate private workshops for small groups of three to six people. These workshops have initiated moving experiences, changing the entrenched perceptions of many of the participants.
“Aravindha has a beautiful way of facilating a safe environment for
people to work in. Heartfelt, delightful and meaningful.”
Karen Marher and son Josh both did my Art4Heart workshop at Crystal Waters 2005
